What other staff are doing at Otago Polytechnic
If you are interested in seeing what else is being created at Otago Polytechnic then read on... I received this through a gruop I am part of Teaching and Learning Online... its from Helen Lindsay..
I'm also from Otago Polytechnic - Dunedin_ New Zealand (as is Merolee) I have been developing two or three courses on wikieducator which are all available from http//:wikieducator.org/Peer_tutoring . Other courses Otago Polytechnic have been developing can be found at http://www.wikieducator.org/Otago_Polytechnic The Peer tutor training course is set to go live to students in about four weeks and will be facilitated from a Blog. The students won't necessarily even see the front pages on the wiki, they will be directed to the resources and activities from a Blog (yet to be started). The wiki has really been designed for teachers and aims to staircase learners into other courses such as Cert in Adult Education. The blog about this project is at : http://helenlindsay.wordpress.com

Computer games and OT
Here's a nice story about the use of computer games in OT. It involves the use of a Nintendo Wii in the therapy sessions of injured American soldiers.

links to other Otago Polytechnic blogs
It's a bit late to start a posting... but I guess no time like the present! Leigh has just pointed me in the direction of his bloglines site (http://www.bloglines.com/public/leighblackall). One of his folders contains all the blogs created by Otago Polytechnic staff under the edc listed folder.

Thank you James!
James has made a great start on our page showing a number of resources he has already found! I'm going to bring in the blogs created by the Web 2.0 project group that is underway on Monday nights. I have a group of six therapists, plus a couple of staff who have already got blogs underway. You will find their reflections interesting, and there are a number of links they have also found - particularly in the neuro area!

Slideshare site
This is the powerpoint presentation from the introductory lecture to Participation in Occupation 1. I have uploaded it onto Slideshare which is a webhost and resource for powerpoint presentations on a number of topics. The content of all viewable presentations on this site has been made public by the author so can be referenced or used appropriately. I can help people to access this site if they want.

Flickr photo site
Clicking on the Flickr badge on the top right hand side of the screen will take you to Flickr.com. This is a web host for digital photos. You can either sign up and store your own photos on this account or download any photos that have been made public for use in presentations and course work. This can be a useful and legal resource for images. If you want any help opening an account of navigating around the site I'm happy to help. Currently the badge is set to display images related to occupational therapy.
